Are Turkish women taking the law into their own hands?

Most women’s groups agree that the number of women who resort to violence in self-defense has increased, and so has the public’s admiration for it. Are women, worried by the lack of legal protection, being forced to take the matter into their own hands and are courts recognizing their self-defense?
